St. John's Health MinuteThere’s good news out there for those of you who like the occasional fast food meal. Restaurant chains are jumping on a new band-wagon, promising to go to zero trans fats in their cooking starting this spring. The latest to join is Taco Bell, which plans to switch to canola oil instead of partially hydrogenated soybean oil. KFC announced last month that it’s doing the same. Other restaurant chains, including Wendy's, Chili's, and Ruby Tuesday, have already removed trans fats from most of their menu items.

If you are looking for something to do with the kids this weekend, plan to come out for Joplin’s Christmas parade. St. John’s will be there, as the primary sponsor of the event, celebrating a healthy Christmas around the World. Look for our Mobile Mammography unit and 110 employees representing 110 years of service in Joplin. The parade is set for tomorrow, December 2nd at 5:30 p.m. So bring the kids and we’ll see you there. For more information, call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
