OK – ladies. Here are several tips you need to hear, even if you don’t want to. First - skip the fried and fatty foods, and strive for at least half an hour of exercise daily. And if you plan on having children someday, it's a good idea to take a multivitamin that gives you plenty of folic acid now. The benefits of folic acid for the developing fetus kick in even before you know you're pregnant. Work on your relationship – with your doctor. Everyone should have a primary physican, and you should feel comfortable asking the more delicate subjects with them. And finally – know your family health history. It’s good to ask the questions now, while you still have the chance.
Here’s something else for the ladies. St. John’s mobile mammography unit is now out and ready to serve you. Think of it as another room in our Breast Center, this one just happens to be on wheels. Our mobile mammography unit is traveling the four state region and setting up at several locations for your convenience. No appointment is needed and you don’t need a referral from your doctor. For more information or to find a list of dates and locations, call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
