St. John's Health MinuteHere’s something you may or may not like to hear. New research says moderate drinking may lengthen life, but heavy drinking raises the risk of death. Moderate drinking is defined as two to four drinks a day for men; one to two drinks for women. Heavy drinking is anything beyond that. So the message is heavy drinkers should cut their consumption, but people who already consume low to moderate amounts of alcohol should continue, atleast that’s what the Italian researchers who conducted the study say.

It’s not too early to start thinking about next year’s St. John’s Life Fair. It’s set for Saturday, March 31st at the Leggett and Platt Gymnasium on the campus of MSSU. Free screenings are available to the public and our doctors will be available to answer all of your questions. So mark it on your calendar now. St. John’s Life Fair is Saturday, March 31st at a new location – on the MSSU campus. For more information, call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
