Before you head out for that new year’s party, think about this. Holiday celebrations can translate into lots of extra calories from drinks you don't normally consume, including the obligatory eggnog as well as other alcoholic and non-alcoholic favorites. For instance, a Peppermint Mocha will set you back 470 calories. A hot buttered rum - 418 calories, a Margarita - 408 calories and that eggnog, without the liquor - 350 calories. So be careful what you drink tonight and please drive responsibly.
And if you’re still looking for a new year’s resolution, go for the usual….more exercise. And St. John’s can help with our new fitness program. Our olympic circuit training begins January 8th and runs every Tuesday and Thursday evening. The class can help aid in weight loss, gain muscle strength, and aerobic capacity, improving bone density and raising metabolism. For more information or to sign up for the class, call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
