Heart Health : Heart Month

How often do you think about your heart health? Here are some things to think about. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. That’s about 27 percent of all deaths in the US each year. Not only that, but heart-related issues cost Americans millions of dollars. According to the American Heart Association, all cardiovascular diseases together are projected to cost $475.3 billion in 2009, including health care services, medications, and lost productivity. February is American Heart Disease Awareness Month and St John’s has a heart for your cardiovascular health. We offer low-cost cardiovascular risk assessments, cardiac CT scoring, cardiac rehab and a number of health-talks and free screenings through St. John’s Health Connection. For more information on St. John’s events or to find a physician, visit stj.com or call St. John’s Referral One at 625.2000.
