General Health : Hiccups
Hiccups can be a pain, and once they start, all you want is to make them stop. Here are some tips on getting rid of hiccups: Tip your head back, hold your breath, and count to 10. Exhale immediately and drink a glass of water. Massage the back of the roof of your mouth with your finger or a cotton swab. Eat some dry bread very slowly. Hold your breath for as long as you can. Lie down on your back and pull your knees to your chest. Eat a teaspoon of sugar. Gargle with water. If hiccups persist for more than eight hours in an adult or more than three hours in a child, call your doctor.
