Heart Health : Go Red For Women
February is Heart Disease Awareness Month. And, today the American Heart Association celebrates National Wear Red Day to raise awareness of heart disease in women. Heart disease is the number one cause of death in women. You may think that heart disease only affects older women. Think again. According to the CDC, heart disease is the third leading cause of death in women ages 25 to 44. What’s more is almost two-thirds of the women who die suddenly of coronary heart disease have no previous symptoms. And, even if you have no symptoms, you may still be at risk for developing heart disease. St. John’s wants to encourage everyone to Go Red for Women and learn ways to stay heart-healthy.
