St. John's Health MinuteThroughout the course of our lives, we all experience episodes of unhappiness, sadness, or grief, often, when a loved one dies, or we suffer a personal tragedy or difficulty such as divorce or loss of a job. Over a period of days or weeks, the majority of us are able bounce back to our normal activities. But when these feelings last for more than a couple of weeks, we may have what is called clinical depression. If you or someone you know has more than just the blues, talk to your doctor. There is help out there. Depression can be diagnosed and treated effectively in most people.

If you are planning on attending this year’s Joplin Business Expo, be sure to look for St. John’s booths. We will be offering free health screenings and our Mobile Mammography unit will also be performing annual mammograms for the busy working woman. We’ll be out at John Q. Hammons tomorrow and Wednesday, so just stop by when it’s convenient. No appointment is needed. And for more information about future health screenings, just log onto stj.com.
