About a third of New Year's resolvers make weight loss their primary goal, and about 15% aim to begin an exercise program. If this is you, listen up. Exercise does not have to be an all-consuming and excruciating endeavor. We watch commercials and see athletes whose eyeballs are sweating because they're working out so hard. People think that's what exercise is supposed to be, But those high-intensity workouts are done only by a very small percentage of the population. For the average person, a good fitness program consists of exercises that work out the whole body. Just be sure to include a little cardio with your weight-bearing exercises.
And don’t forget to workout. Even though your parts may hurt, you still need physical activity every day. And vigorous work-outs - when you're breathing hard and sweating - help your heart pump better, give you more energy and help you look and feel better.
