With cold and flu season in full swing, parents who pay attention to hygiene and nutrition can boost the odds that their children will stay healthy -- or at least healthier than last year. The most important thing is to remind kids to wash their hands frequently. Germ-laden hands are the most common source of bacteria, and frequent hand-washing will reduce the number of colds and infections. Another way to protect your kids is with annual flu shots, which are still available at several St. John’s clinic locations.
It’ll be here before you know it…this year’s Joplin Business Expo. St. John’s will be there offering free health screenings along with great giveaways. We’ll be out at John Q. Hammons next week, January 15th and 16th, so mark it on your calendar now. And for more information about future health screenings, just call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
