If you’re like most Americans, coffee has become one of your major food groups. After all, it doesn’t take much to visit the Starbucks down the street, or hit one of the drive thru coffee shops all over town. Here’s some good news for all coffee drinkers. Daily coffee drinking will NOT put you at risk of high blood pressure. However, drinking regular cola beverages is another matter. A new study found that women drinking one cola a day increased their risk of high blood pressure by about 13 percent. Women drinking four or more soft drinks a day had up to 44 percent higher risk. However, there are other health risks associated with drinking too much coffee. So doctors say the word to remember is moderation.

So what’s your favorite summer drink? Is it one of the many new flavors of green tea now on the market? If so, here’s some good news. New research says people who drink at least a pint of green tea each day have a lower risk of death from heart diseaseheart disease. And the benefit of green tea is especially pronounced in women. Women who drink 2-4 glasses of green tea every day cut their risk of heart disease by 31%. Men who drink this much green tea cut their heart disease risk by 22%.
