As a parent, you know the rule, never take your child down the cereal aisle at the store. The reason, they’ll pick what looks good, rather than what is good for them. Well, here’s a big tip when it comes to picking a healthy cereal for your kids. Read the label. Nutritionists recommend that sugar make up no more than half of total carbohydrates. A cereal should also provide at least two grams of protein and a good dose of fiber. Among kid-friendly cereals, Kix is a good choice with only three grams of sugar. Cinnamon Life has much more sugar with nine grams, but it has good doses of protein and fiber.
