You may have heard the rumor that dark chocolate is good for you. Well, the truth is, it’s true. However, you have to consider portion control. A new study says dark chocolate can help lower high blood pressure. But overindulging in dark chocolate might blow your calorie budget, and packing on pounds could raise blood pressure. So how much is too much? Experts say no more than 30 calories per day of dark chocolate. That's roughly the number of calories in ONE Hershey's Kiss.
Maybe it’s from eating too much chocolate or maybe it’s because we don’t know when to stop, but the truth is Americans are fat and it‘s time to do something about it. If you want to learn more about your risks, mark this on your calendar. St. John’s will be holding a health talk to discuss obesity tomorrow, July 10th at 5:30 p.m. The talk will be held at our Health Connection location inside Northpark Mall. Registration is required, so call St. John`s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
