Home Health : Balance Issues

Most everyone experiences dizziness at one time or another. Sometimes it’s as simple as standing up too quickly and causing light-headedness. But, some problems with dizziness are more complicated and could be serious. Some serious illnesses that can be to blame for dizziness include heart rhythm problems, stroke, sever infection, high or low blood pressure, clogged arteries, circulation problems and diseases that affect the nervous system. Some dizziness can be caused by balance problems such as BPPV, which is caused when small calcium stones in the inner ear become displaced. Other disorders include labyrinthitis, an infection or inflammation of the inner ear and Menier’s disease, an abnormality in the inner ear fluid that causes vertigo and other symptoms. Dizziness and balance disorders can be treated. But don’t take it lightly. If you have dizziness it’s best to talk to your doctor.
