Forget plastic surgery and expensive creams, you can have great natural skin without leaving the house. Experts say the fountain of youth is just sitting in your kitchen. So which foods will help? Start with a green salad (and dressing out of olive oil and lemon juice.) Then go for the omega-3 fatty acids with broiled salmon or another cold water fish such as tuna. And for dessert, go for strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Just stick to low carbohydrates and sugars. And remember to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day to stay hydrated.
Here’s something for everyone. Osteoporosis causes more than one and a half million fractures every year. If you're a woman older than 50, you have 50-50 odds of having an osteoporosis-related fracture sometime in your remaining lifetime (and guys aren’t out of the equation, your chance of a similar fracture is one in four.) St. John’s is offering FREE bone density screenings every Wednesday in June from 7:30 to 10:00 in the morning at our Health Connection location inside Northpark Mall. Registration is required, so call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com
