Cancer : Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month
Did you know that not counting skin cancers, colorectal cancer is the third most common cancer found in men and women in this country. The good news is, the death rate from colorectal cancer has been going down for the past 15 years. That’s because of decreased numbers of cases of colon cancer due to early testing. Some testing actually can prevent colon cancer from ever even occurring. In general, both men and women at average risk of colorectal cancer should begin screening tests at age 50, but you should talk to your doctor about your own health and your family history so that you can choose the best screening plan for you. March is colorectal cancer awareness month. Take the time to find out your family history and your risks of developing colon cancer.
