General Health : Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month
What color is the ribbon for Breast Cancer Awareness? You’re probably able to answer that question without thinking about it much. Breast cancer awareness has saved millions of lives through early detection. Did you know that colorectal cancer is the second leading cancer killer in the United States? The sad truth is it doesn’t have to be. According to the CDC, if everyone age 50 and older had regular colorectal cancer screening tests, at least 60 percent of deaths from this cancer could be avoided. So, if you’re 50 or older, it’s time to start getting screened now. But you should begin screenings sooner if you are in a high risk group. Be sure to talk to your doctor about when screenings are right for you.
