During summer months, amusement parks are packed with riders in search of the ultimate adrenaline rush, but parents need to ask themselves one question. Are those thrilling rides perhaps a little too thrilling? You hear about the accidents on the news, but the truth is there are steps you can take to make sure those scary rides are safe. First - size matters. A huge mistake parents can make is letting children go on rides that aren't appropriate for their size. Ride structure, restraints and size -- vary wildly, and you should examine a ride yourself to determine how safe it is for your child. You should also limit the number of thrill rides you or your kids go on, and take breaks between rides. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes. And don’t forget to drink plenty of water throughout the day, and in between the rides.
