Home Health : Rosacea
You’ve probably heard of rosacea, a disorder in which the blood vessels in the face dilate too easily, causing the skin to appear flushed and red. In addition to the redness, rosacea patients may have facial burning, itching, stinging or swelling. According to the National Rosacea Society, the most common triggers for rosacea flare-ups include: sun exposure, emotional stress, hot or cold weather, wind, alcohol or spicy foods. Treatments vary based on individual symptoms, so you should talk to your doctor about the treatment that’s right for you. St. John’s Health Connection will hold a free skin screening on May 8 in the Mercy Conference Center from 1 – 4 pm. Registration is required, so call Referral One today. To find out more about the screening or to learn about other Health Connection events and screenings, visit our online events calendar at stj.com or call St. John’s Referral One at 625.2000.
