St. John's Health MinuteDo you have a cold, or is it something else? If you want to know the symptoms, just listen up. One to three days after catching a cold virus, symptoms will begin. It might start with a scratchy feeling in the throat. Other symptoms can include sneezing, a runny nose, headache, and the feeling of being tired and unwell. Usually there is no fever -- in fact, fever and more severe symptoms may indicate that you have the flu and not a cold. This is the season for colds, but if it doesn’t go away in 4 to 10 days, see a doctor. And keep in mind, that when you have a cold, you are contagious for the first three days of symptoms, so stay home and get some rest. You’ll be doing everyone a favor.

We reminded you in October to get your mammogram. If you ignored us then, you need to listen up now. We are now hitting the streets with our Mobile Mammography unit. We are kicking things off with a stop at Northpark Mall this Friday. No appointment is needed and you don’t need a referral from your physician. So mark it on your calendar now. St. John’s Mobile Mammography unit will be at Northpark Mall this Friday, November 17th from 9 to 4. And to find out about other times and locations, just log onto stj.com.
