St. John's Health MinuteHere’s a great tip with the colder weather upon us. Diversify your alcohol choice with a room temperature glass of table wine. The warmer drink will take the chill off and the wine, especially red, has heart healthy benefits. Just remember a standard size glass of wine is just 4 ounces, not the whole bottle.
And to give your heart health a boost this fall, focus on prevention. That means scheduling an appointment with your doctor to get your blood pressure and cholesterol checked, and to see if your blood glucose levels are healthy. Knowing your numbers will help you figure out your personal risk for heart disease. And if you can’t get in to see your doctor, St. John’s can help. We host cholesterol screenings on a regular basis and blood pressure checks every Wednesday at our Health Connection location inside Northpark Mall. To find out about all of our upcoming health screenings, call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
