St. John's Health MinuteManage the more demanding fall schedules by synchronizing your internal sleep-wake clock to the outside environment. In the morning, get outside within 5 minutes of getting up and expose yourself to bright light for 30 minutes. At night, avoid bright light within two to three hours of bedtime because it might delay your sleep onset. This will keep you alert in the morning and make you sleepy at bedtime.

There’s a lot that goes into your child’s development. One question many parents have involves their child’s speech and language skills. For instance, stuttering is not uncommon and usually resolves on it’s own. But if you have concerns or questions about your child’s speech development, mark this on your calendar. St. John’s will host a speech development health talk on Tuesday, November 7th. Screenings will be available for kids 2 ½ to 5 ½. Registration is required so call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
