Over the holidays, we all feel a little stress. Even if it’s just a small amount, it could weigh heavy on your eating habits. A person who is under stress tends to skip meals, eat on the run, overeat and fill up on junk food. That is counter-productive and bound to lead eventually to weight gain and health problems. A better approach is to focus on low-fat foods such as a handful of pretzels. Researchers say this can boost the production of serotonin, a hormone that tends to reduce feelings of stress and depression.
It’ll be here before you know it so mark it on your calendar now. St. John’s Life Fair is set for Saturday, March 29th at the Leggett & Platt Athletic Center on the campus of MSSU. We’ll have all the same free screenings and activities for the public, plus a featured guest speaker. For more information about St. John’s Annual Life Fair, call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
