Do you take a daily multivitamin? If you don’t, you might change your mind after hearing this. A new study suggests that a multi-vitamin a day can delay the onset of cataracts. Just think of it like this. How well would your car run if you never changed your oil filter? Well, after 60 or 70 years your eye lens is toast! It has accumulated so much chemical waste from filtering dangerous light rays that the lens turns yellow-amber in color. A daily multi-vitamin acts as a protector for your eyes, causing less damage over time.
If you like eating mushrooms, you’re going to love this. A new study shows that mushrooms have as many antioxidants as many vegetables. The common white button mushroom, portabella’s, shiitake and oyster mushrooms all showed to be good for you. And you don’t have to go for the expensive ones. The white button mushrooms -- the ones you might put on a nice, lean steak -- have more antioxidant capacity than tomatoes, green peppers, pumpkins, zucchini, carrots, or green beans.
