Forget plastic surgery and expensive creams, you can have great natural skin without leaving the house. Experts say the fountain of youth is just sitting in your kitchen. So which foods will help? Start with a green salad (and dressing out of olive oil and lemon juice.) Then go for the omega-3 fatty acids with broiled salmon or another cold water fish such as tuna. And for dessert, go for strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Just stick to low carbohydrates and sugars. And remember to drink 8-10 glasses of water a day to stay hydrated.
October is Breast Cancer awareness month so here are some facts you need to know. A woman is diagnosed with breast cancer every three minutes in the U.S. and a woman dies of breast cancer every 12 minutes. The truth is one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and men are not immune. They are at risk as well. So to learn more, mark this on your calendar. St. John’s is hosting a health talk on the risk factors for breast cancer, tomorrow at our Health Connection location at Northpark mall. The talk starts at 5:30 in the evening. For more information or to sign up, call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
