10/8/2008 - More Benefits to Keeping Fit
Keeping fit isn’t always easy. But, there may be even more incentive to get into an exercise routine. Recent studies have suggested that regular exercise can help lower your risk of breast cancer. Prevention guidelines from the American Cancer Society say that women should get about 30 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise most days of the week to lower breast cancer risk. For most women, it’s finding the time to exercise that’s the trick. Find some creative ways to incorporate exercise in the things you’re already doing. Take the stairs instead of the elevator at work. Park your car a little further away from the front door. If you can, walk or ride your bike to work, or just take a walk during your lunch hour.
