OK – so you’ve given in and let your child have a sip of your morning java here and there, can it be all that bad? The answer is YES. Experts say, it’s best to avoid caffeinated drinks altogether before age 6. After that, an occasional treat is OK. But here are some things to keep in mind. Caffeine has a greater effect on kids because they’re smaller and their metabolisms are faster. And if your little one won’t back down, offer tea instead. Black tea has about half the caffeine as coffee, and green tea has even less.
