So we’re trained to think that a salad is good for us. But here’s a shocker. There's nothing so-called healthy about 490 calories and 41 grams of fat in a Subway BMT salad with ranch dressing. That adds up to even more calories and fat than a Burger King Bacon Cheeseburger. And at Ruby Tuesday, the Carolina Chicken Salad packs — brace yourself — 1,300 calories and 72 grams of fat. The culprit may not be in your salad greens, but all the extras loaded on top, including the dressing. So the rule of thumb, when it comes to ordering a salad….stick to the basics and watch the fat.
So, are you like the rest of us and you realized last weekend, you can’t fit into last year’s swimsuit. And you believe me when I say you need to exercise along with diet to lose weight. Well St. John’s is here to help with a great health talk, "Get a Kick Out of Life: How Much Exercise do you Need?" The talk is set for Tuesday, June 10th at 5:30 pm at our Health Connection location inside Northpark mall. For more information, call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
