Just walk into any drug store and you can become overwhelmed with the options. Take for example a headache or minor aches and pains, you can choose from a number of effective over-the-counter remedies. The key is following directions or you could be putting yourself at risk. So read the product label and take the proper dose for your age and weight. Take into account that cough, cold and fever medications may contain the same painkiller, increasing the risk of an overdose. And if you’re under age 19, take Tylenol since taking aspirin for a cold or fever can put you at risk of brain or liver damage.
Summer will be here before you know it which means now would be a good time to get a skin test to check for any abnormalities. And St. John’s has just what you need. Registration is required so call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
