Some people swear by a 6 a.m. jog to get their hearts racing and get them psyched up for the day. Others wouldn't dream of breaking a sweat before noon, preferring a walk around the neighborhood after dinner. But is any one time of day the best time to exercise? The truth is that there's no reliable evidence to suggest that calories are burned more efficiently at certain times of the day. The most important thing, experts say, is to choose a time of day you can stick with, so that exercise becomes a habit. And whatever you do, don't exercise immediately following a meal. Give yourself 90 minutes after a heavy meal before hitting the weights or going for that walk.
Fall is here so that means the big event in Carthage is coming up soon. That’s right, the area’s biggest parade – the maple leaf parade in Carthage is set for Saturday, October 20th. St. John’s Mobile Mammography unit will be there along with several employees. So come on out and show your support by wearing pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. And to find out about all of our events this month, just log onto stj.com.
