Breast Cancer is believed to be a woman’s disease, but the truth is, men can be diagnosed as well. In fact, men can develop breast cancer at any age, although it’s most often discovered in men between 60 and 70 years of age. Some risk factors for breast cancer in men may include exposure to radiation, having a disease related to high levels of estrogen in the body, or several female relatives who have had breast cancer. So guys, don’t just ignore the messages out there this month for Breast Cancer awareness, talk to your doctor about your health.

And for the ladies, we know that Breast Cancer affects 1 in 8 women so this is the time to gather your friends and think pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. We have a special evening set for women. So call your girlfriends and plan a girl’s night out. The event will include a fashion show featuring Breast Cancer Survivors and you’ll also hear from the editor of Cure magazine. So mark this on your calendar, it’s a special evening for women next Saturday, October 27th starting at 4 p.m. For more information call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
