You’ve heard you need to exercise and you may have heard the term cardio. Well, I’m here to tell you that any cardio is good. Cardiovascular exercise is any type of exercise that increases the work of the heart and lungs. From running and walking, to swimming, biking, Stairmaster, and rowing -- the physical benefits of cardio exercise are numerous. You can reduce your risk of heart disease, improve blood cholesterol levels, improve heart function, reduce your risk of osteoporosis and improve muscle mass. So the key is cardio, no matter the type or time.
