So how are your pearly whites? Are they not so white? If you’ve ever thought of using those over-the-counter tooth whiteners now out in stores, you need to hear this. A recent study showed that the tooth-whitening products did what they promised to do -- make teeth whiter. But the results won’t last forever. After about 2-3 weeks, the color begins to fade. And the most common side effects from the whiteners were tooth sensitivity and gum irritation, especially in products with high levels of hydrogen peroxide. Dentists just encourage patients to be careful and use the products in moderation. And you still need to brush and floss regularly.
It’s that time of year again. Now is the time to protect yourself from the flu. Nearly everyone benefits from having a seasonal flu shot, and the CDC highly recommends a yearly shot for persons at higher than average risk. St. John’s drive-by flu shot clinic is set for Tuesday, October 30th. It’ll all take place on St. John’s blvd, on our campus, starting at 7 am. The cost is just $10.
