Surprise, surprise, doctors now say drinking coffee and other caffeinated beverages won't do you any good in your efforts to lose weight and keep it off. Caffeine acts as a diuretic, causing the body to retain less water temporarily. But there's nothing to suggest that these effects are permanent, and the stimulant does nothing to reduce body fat. The best way to lose a few pounds and maintain a healthy weight is to get enough exercise and eat a proper diet.
We all hate those co-workers who call in sick, when you know they’re not. What about those who come to work, no matter what? You may feel like you’re doing your company a favor by showing up to work with the sniffles, but get over it. You’re not that important and you may be doing more harm than good. New reports show no-absence workers were twice as likely to have a heart attack or die from heart disease as those who took some sick time.
