Are you looking to hit the friendly skies? Sometimes a trip is all we need, but the jet lag can set us back for a few days on our vacation. So here are a few things to keep in mind before flying. First, get plenty of sleep before you leave, eat well-balanced meals and exercise as much as you can on your trip. They will all help against jet lag, and make it a more enjoyable trip.

Even if you didn’t travel this summer, you should be protecting yourself from skin cancer. Remember to use sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher. Limit your time in the sun between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. when rays are at their strongest. And keep in mind that some medications can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight.

If you do spot something suspicious, you should get it checked by a dermatologist and St. John’s is providing a special skin screening with Doctor Derek Towery this Friday, September 21st from 1-4. Call to schedule your appointment today. Just call St. John’s Referral One at 625-2000 or log onto stj.com.
